Privacy

StockTap is a way to send stocks to people. The shortest honest summary: we store what is needed to show you your portfolio and to deliver a transfer to the person you chose.

What we store

• Your display name, @username and avatar. Your username is public by design.
• Your holdings and the transfers you send and receive.
• StockLinks you create, including the amount, the asset and any message you attach.

What is public

Your profile page at stocktap.app/@username shows your display name, avatar and username so that people can confirm they are sending to the right person. Balances are never public. Activity is never shown on a public profile unless you turn it on.

Tap and scan

A tap or a scan creates a short-lived transfer session between two devices. It carries the recipient and the amount, nothing else. It is single-use and expires.

Market data

Prices and charts come from market data providers. Requesting a quote does not tell a provider who you are or what you hold.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from the app. Completed transfers are retained where record keeping obligations require it; the rest is removed.
